Predictably Still Counts.

This page is the weekly rhythm of Wellness Whiskers & Silverballs — a simple structure built around real life, real progress, and realistic consistency. Instead of chasing perfection, we focus on small efforts that add up over time. Each week includes short reflections from the pinball brain, encouragement from the cats who supervise everything, and practical food choices that support everyday activity.

Weekly Reads structure

Monday – mindset (pinball brain)

Wednesday – cats/community connection

Friday – practical real-life food

Sunday – sustainable movement habit loop

These posts are designed to be easy to follow, easy to return to, and easy to continue — because steady habits create sustainable change.

Wellness, cats, pinball, and community all live here together, one week at a time.

Monday – Pinball Shower Thoughts 🎯

Monday Pinball Shower Thoughts #12 Recovery After Mistakes

Recovery After Mistakes Bad balls happen. • tilts happen • misdirected nudges happen • missed shots happen • embarrassing drains happen • house balls happen Recovery matters more than perfection. • One bad ball does not define the whole game.• Resetting is part of improvement. Continuing anyway still counts 🔵

Monday Pinball Shower Thoughts #11Small Progress > Perfect Progress

Small Progress > Perfect Progress Most pinball improvement happens quietly. slightly better control fewer panic flips one extra saved ball more consistent shots learning when to slow down tiny score increases over time Progress is usually gradual, not dramatic. Small improvements repeated consistently still build real skill. Most growth happens through repetition, patience, and showing…

Wednesday – Whisker Wednesday 🐾

Because the cats are clearly part of management. Supervisors, quality control specialists, and morale support team.

Whisker Wednesday #11🐾

Cat toy Wins! This week’s household product testing results: 🤖 Laser Pointer Cat Robot4 out of 5 cats approve. 😻😻😻😻 Unfortunately, the cats immediately removed the robot’s cat ears during what experts are describing as “aggressive collaborative play.” The robot survived. The ears did not. 🌀 Strange Whirly Gig Toy5 out of 5 cats approve.😻😻😻😻😻 Strong…

The cheapest cat toy that always wins

Whisker Wednesday #9 = tiny chaos, still counts. Packing paper + a box = top-tier entertainment. Always. No batteries required. No subscription needed. Just two tiny chaos gremlins living their best lives. 😹📦 Still counts. Weekly Reads Whiskers Cat Blog

Whisker Wednesday #8 – Xena sensitive + sweet

Gabby lives her life at full volume. If there is a chance for snacks, attention, or participation… she is already there, standing tall, doing beggies like it’s her full-time job. She will ask anyone — humans, guests, other cats (who remain unimpressed). Confidence level: unmatched. Xena is a little different. She feels things deeply. Some…

Foodie Friday #14 – Angry Crab Shack with Mama 🦀❤️

One of the unexpected perks of becoming an empty nester is getting to spend more time with my mom. This week’s Foodie adventure took us to Angry Crab Shack for a seafood feast that was equal parts delicious and entertaining. If you’ve never been to a seafood boil restaurant, be prepared. They don’t just bring…

Foodie Friday #13 – Ham Wraps Clinger Would Endorse!

Sometimes the best meals aren’t fancy. They’re the ones that survive a 12-hour pinball tournament, a road trip, or a busy day without turning into a soggy disaster. This week’s Foodie Friday features one of my favorite go-to meals: a simple ham wrap inspired by a stop I made last summer at Tony Packo’s in…

Foodie Friday #12 — Crust Brothers with Mama 🍕☀️

106° outside, mixed up my days, showed up for my nail appointment a day early, and somehow still ended up having a really good afternoon. 😆 Mama ordered margarita pizza with anchovies like the tiny Italian grandmother she was apparently meant to become, while I went full Midwest comfort mode with feta, meatball, and bacon…

Foodie Friday #11

Starbucks Carrot Method Fuel Your coffee + what helps power the walk. For me, it’s a Trente, Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew and Bacon and Gruyere Egg Bites. In the past, it was McDonald’s Iced Coffee and a breakfast burrito. Before that it was Einstein’s bagel coffee and a protein bialli with peanut butter.  Sometimes…

Steps for Sips Sunday ☕👟

Sunday focuses on gentle momentum — movement connected to something enjoyable.

Steps for Sips Sunday is part of the Starbuck Carrot Method — pairing movement with a simple, enjoyable reward to help build sustainable habits.

The idea is simple:
walk first, sip second.

Each week features real-life examples of incidental exercise (NEAT movement) connected to something to look forward to, like coffee, fresh air, music, or a peaceful moment outside.

No extreme workouts.
No perfection required.
Just consistent movement that fits real life.

Some weeks are longer walks. Some weeks are shorter. Some weeks include wind, heat, or life interruptions.

It all still counts.

The goal is to show how small, repeatable actions can build momentum over time without burnout or all-or-nothing thinking.

Progress that fits real life is progress that lasts.

Still counts. Always counts. ☕🐾

Bounty Knockout May 2026 Recap — Andrew’s Shark Week Edition

Started the day with a solid Steps for Sips Sunday walk, survived the surprise “100 Leggings Pickup Challenge” issued by the cats, and then headed into the chaos of Bounty Knockout Sunday. Andrew entered the tournament and immediately started doing Andrew things. The early rounds were already dangerous, with bounty chips floating around the room…

Budd Holly & Movie Thoughts Steps for Sips Sunday ☀️🎶

Today’s walk soundtrack turned into a full-on movie marathon in my head. Started with Buddy Holly, drifted through Roy Orbison, Motown, Beach Boys, “Dream a Little Dream,” and suddenly my brain was replaying old movie scenes and memories while I wandered between eucalyptus shade checkpoints, dragon shrubs, rogue prickly pear blooms, and mesquite tree cooling…
