Mr T the eleven‑year‑old black‑cat patriarch of Wellness Whiskers Silverballs. Shy with strangers, fiercely loyal to his people, and deeply committed to sitting in the perfect‑sized box.
Mr. T — affectionately known as QT — is the eleven‑year‑old black‑cat elder of the household. Adopted from the Humane Society in the fall of 2014, he’s been part of the family longer than pinball leagues, wellness goals, and most of the chaos that followed. He came home with giant bat ears and a feisty attitude. He grew up to keep his distance from strangers… but with his people, he’s pure loyalty.
Personality
- Shy but devoted. He may hide from guests, but he’s fiercely bonded to the kids, myself, and my husband.
- Sensitive soul. A little anxiety here and there, but a whole lot of heart.
- Quiet companion. He’s the cat who appears when you need him most, sitting nearby without making a fuss.
His Favorite Things
- The perfect box. Not just any box — the box. The one that fits just right.
- Kibble. He’s not a toy kitty, not a cat‑tree kitty, and definitely not a treat kitty. He knows what he likes.
- Nanny’s Bolognese. The one exception to his “no treats” rule. My mom’s sauce is apparently five‑star cuisine.
His Role in the Family
QT is the steady presence in a house full of big personalities. He’s the quiet observer, the gentle guardian, the one who keeps an eye on everyone from the comfort of his chosen box. He may not be flashy, but he’s deeply loved — and he gives that love right back in his own, loyal way.
