You know you have a pinball problem when “we worked on the F-14 Tomcat last night” turns into an entire home renovation project. 😂
Andrew completely tore into our 1987 F-14 Tomcat and gave him some much-needed love.
• New plunger? ✅
• New legs because apparently she had developed a little bow-legged situation after nearly 40 years of abuse? ✅
• LED lights and klaxons? ✅
• Contacts tightened and adjusted so the bonus loop actually registers again? OH YES. ✅
• Sound card reset so Yagov is back to insulting us properly? ✅
• Music playing when it’s actually supposed to? MAGIC. ✅
And those klaxons during multiball are now so bright that I’m pretty sure the neighbors think there’s a drug bust happening in my house. 🚨😂
Then there is the newest addition to the pinball household:
The Orange Dolly. 🟧
Hey, it was like $100 cheaper than the less offensive gray one. LOL
Andrew retrofitted a special dolly so he can move our 250+ pound machines without requiring me to participate in the process.
This is excellent for my back.
It is potentially terrible for my sanity because apparently the next step is WAXING THE F-14.

Because if you have, you already understand why the words “I’m going to make it faster” are not particularly comforting. 😂
And naturally, none of this work could happen without proper feline supervision.
• Xena spent the evening riding Andrew’s shoulder because apparently she is the foreman.
• Meanwhile, Monkey and Gabby were on the quality-control team, which apparently means STEAL ALL THE SHINY PARTS.
Thankfully, we have magnetic bowls for the screws, tools and other tiny pieces because our cats absolutely will steal anything shiny if given the opportunity.
So here He is.
Nearly 40 years old.
New legs.
New lighting.
New hardware.
Better contacts.
Proper sound.
Yagov back to being a smartass.
And running beautifully.
Honestly?

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go have a conversation with Andrew about exactly how much faster this thing actually needs to be.
Because I’m pretty sure F-14 Tomcat does not need more help being mean. 😂
