Today’s mission:
Early morning start + drink crossbody field test.

The good:
✅ Beat the heat.
✅ Beat the crosswalk lady.
✅ Made it to Starbucks before 7.
✅ Got home before 8.
✅ Cool morning air and beautiful blue skies.
The questionable:
⚠️ Drink purse experiment.
It looked cute.
It was not practical for MY walking style.
Findings from today’s field research:
– Metal tumbler handle kept poking me in the side.
– Shoulder pad wandered around like it had its own agenda.
– Coffee transfer process felt like a high-risk engineering project.
– Hard to access drink while walking.
– Forgot my wallet because everything didn’t fit comfortably.
– Realized I prefer having my ID and essentials separate from my drink.
Conclusion:
Probably better for short commutes, festivals, theme parks, or pinball nights than long Phoenix walks with frequent sipping, shade stops, traffic lights, and coffee logistics.
Also survived:
☀️ Rapidly escalating Phoenix sunshine
Started the walk in “pleasant morning” territory and ended in “Arizona remembering who she is” conditions.
🛴 Axe body spray scooter flyby
Teenager on a scooter passed me in a cloud so strong it practically counted as weather.
🚦 Crosswalk betrayal
Hit the button. Waited patiently. Made it to the median. No walk sign for the second side of the street, got skipped like the traffic light personally had beef with me.
🌳 Mesquite tree heartbreak
One of my favorite shady mesquite stops got aggressively trimmed.
Practical? Probably.
No hummingbird sitings today. No little yellow bird sitings.
Emotionally devastating? Also yes.
🐉 Dragon shrub sighting
Neighborhood bush looked exactly like a tiny green dragon, sporting new flowers, and briefly became the main character of the walk.
Walk Receipts

Still walked.
Still made it home.
Still counts.
