Arizona gave us a tiny mercy window this morning.
The clouds rolled in, the sun backed off a little, and suddenly the neighborhood felt almost peaceful instead of “surface of Mercury adjacent.” 😹

Left the house early, got the walk in, got the coffee, got the movement, got home by 8:20 a.m. before the full heat switch flipped on.
One thing I keep noticing during these walks is how different everything feels depending on the sky.
Same sidewalks.
Same streets.
Same distance.
But overcast mornings make the whole neighborhood feel softer and quieter somehow. Even the palm trees look less dramatic.

Meanwhile, the cat committee immediately reconvened the second I got home:
Xena resumed goblin engineering experiments
Willow supervised the pastel cat toy rave with supreme elegance
Mr. T claimed my purple bag like upper management arriving for inspection
The indoor enrichment center is fully operational. Boxes have been occupied. Toys have been activated. Territorial negotiations are ongoing.
Still counts:
early wake-up
outdoor movement
heat management
consistency
cat entertainment services
hydration station maintenance
getting home before Arizona turns into a convection oven
Not every wellness day has to look intense to matter.
Some days the win is simply:
“I got out there before the heat and kept the routine alive.”

Still counts.
