Today’s walk report from the surface of the sun:
Left the house early trying to beat the heat.
Arizona laughed at me. 😅

The clouds were absolutely gorgeous this morning, but the “shade” situation on the east side of the road was extremely suspicious.
Apparently I’m too tall for wall shade now, so my legs were cool while the sun cooked the top half of me like grocery store rotisserie chicken.
Highlights from today’s adventure included:
Walk to Starbucks
• crosswalk lady setting up the crosswalk signs pre-elementary school rush
• a jogger, a bicyclist, a dog walker with 4 dogs on leashes like a military exercise

Walk Home
• The middle school migration rush
• The milk truck making repeated school deliveries
• One extremely relaxed “I’ll get there when I get there” middle schooler (human Poky Puppy edition)
• A tiny red bird sitting on a wire judging my cardio decisions

• Flaming ocotillos waving around like they were at a 1990s New Age overnight party
• Fitbit acting like a tired child in the backseat:
“Are we done yet? How much farther? Can we stop exercising now?” 😂
• Meanwhile Spotify decided to become a comedian:
– Bodies while I was melting into a puddle
– The Sound of Silence right after the middle school chaos disappeared

By the time I got home, I walked into the air conditioning and instantly transformed into my own personal indoor rainstorm.
Andrew gave me the “you gonna survive this?” look.
Yes.
I am melty.
But I survived. 😆
2 tracked walks combined

• 57 total zone minutes
• Walk 1 average HR: 94 bpm
• Walk 2 average HR: 120 bpm

Fitbit is now politely suggesting I “take it easy.”
Phoenix weather disagrees.
