Some Tuesdays are a whole collection of activities wearing a trench coat and pretending to be one normal day. 😂
Today was one of those days!
Between Jazzercise, my walk home from the Starbucks midpoint bench, the walk to the bench, and tonight’s planned trip to Electric Bat Arcade, there’s a little bit of everything happening. Fitness, food, rest, and pinball. Just another day in my Wellness Whiskers Silverballs world!
💃 Jazzercise #67: Robyn Is Back!
This morning, I headed to Jazzercise for workout number 67! Miss Robyn was back from Paris, and although jet lag was apparently part of the souvenir collection, she was back teaching familiar choreography.
Angie was there, too, and we got moving!
I danced my heart out and made it through the strength segment. I skipped the weights to protect my right shoulder, but I still did the movements. My goal is to build strength and endurance without making my shoulder regret its life choices.
And the verdict? My shoulder is perfectly happy! That’s exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for. I’m not interested in picking a fight with a body part that has to help me play pinball later. 😉
Jazzercise Receipts

Here’s what Fitbit recorded for Jazzercise:
– Duration: Approximately 70 minutes
– Calories burned: 383
– Cardio Load: 27
– Zone Minutes: 31
Not a bad way to start the day!
I stopped at the house to start dinner, and change my shoes for my walk. Oops, wore my Jazzercise shoes, because I forgot to change them.

🚶♀️ Walk 2 of 5: The Walk to Starbucks, and Home from the Midpoint Bench

After Jazzercise, it was time to get my walking in for the day and continue my participation in the American Cancer Society’s Carrots for a Cause — 62-Mile October Walking Challenge.
First up was the walk home from the Starbucks midpoint bench.
This is part of my familiar walking routine, and today I kept a brisk pace.
Walk 2 Receipts

Fitbit recorded:
– Distance: 1.22 miles
– Duration: 27 minutes, 46 seconds
– Average pace: 22 minutes, 45 seconds per mile
– Steps: 2,798
– Average heart rate: 124 bpm
– Cardio Load: 24
– Zone Minutes: 37
My heart rate spent 17 minutes in the moderate zone and 11 minutes in the vigorous zone, according to Fitbit.
That was a purposeful walk! Between Jazzercise and this first walking segment, I was already putting together a pretty active day.
🚶♀️ The Walk to the Midpoint Bench: A Gentler Pace
Eventually, it was time to head back out and walk to the Starbucks midpoint bench.
The walk to the bench was a little more relaxed, which made sense after a morning of dancing and the first walking segment.
Walk 1 Receipts

Here’s the Fitbit report for the walk to the bench:
– Distance: 1.34 miles
– Duration: 41 minutes, 24 seconds
– Average pace: 30 minutes, 58 seconds per mile
– Steps: 3,042
– Average heart rate: 103 bpm
– Cardio Load: 13
– Zone Minutes: 22
– Elevation gain: 2 feet
I spent 22 minutes in the moderate heart-rate zone and 19 minutes in the light zone. There was no time in the vigorous or peak zones during this walk.
Fitbit even described the walk to the bench as showing cardiovascular recovery after Jazzercise. The lower average heart rate and gentler pace fit the easier effort of this walk.
And elevation gain? Two feet. 😂
No phantom Fitbit mountains today!
📊 Tuesday’s Movement Scoreboard
By early afternoon, Fitbit was reporting 11,340 steps for the day.
My weekly cardio progress had reached 157 of 411 minutes, or 38% of my weekly goal. My readiness score was 25, and Fitbit had recorded 5 hours and 57 minutes of sleep with a sleep score of 74, rated Fair.
That sleep score is a reminder that the day started with less sleep than I’d ideally like. So while I’m pleased with the movement, I’m also planning to listen to my body and get some rest.
One important distinction: the activity numbers above belong to separate Fitbit workout records. The daily step count is the overall total shown on my dashboard, not simply the sum of the steps recorded in those two walks.
🥱 The Afternoon Reset
After all that movement, my next plan is refreshingly simple: head inside, take a shower, and enjoy a nap before finishing dinner.
Because yes, a person can enjoy exercise and still need an afternoon recharge. We’re not robots, and Fitbit has not been granted authority over my entire existence.
Tonight’s dinner plan is spaghetti squash with cherry tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, seasoning, and Boursin cheese, alongside baked salmon.
Then it’s time to head to Electric Bat Arcade!
Apparently, today’s itinerary includes fitness, food, rest, and pinball. Just another day around here.
🎯 Wellness, Whiskers & Silverballs
One of the things I’ve learned since starting this journey is that wellness doesn’t have to look the same every day.
Sometimes it’s a walk. Sometimes it’s Jazzercise. Sometimes it’s both, followed by a nap and an evening playing pinball.
I’m not micromanaging every minute. I’m living my life, paying attention to what my body needs, and keeping track of the things I do. My website gives me a place to share the journey and a record of the little things that add up over time.
The weather gets a vote, too. Arizona heat can make outdoor walking impractical during the summer, and rain can throw a wrench into my plans when the weather finally cools down. I like the rain, but I would appreciate it if it could schedule itself around my walking plans. Is that too much to ask? 😂
The beauty of this routine is that I can adjust. When outdoor walking is practical, I walk. When it isn’t, I find other ways to move. The goal isn’t perfection. It’s building a lifestyle that works in real life.
Movement in real life still counts.
Today, that meant Jazzercise #67, Walk 2 of 5, two walking segments, 11,340 steps, a happy shoulder, and a pinball night waiting on the other side of dinner.
And honestly? I think I’m doing pretty darn well.
Still counts. Always!💜
