It was time for Halloween pinball with the Desert Dolls, and this tournament was an absolute blast! πŸ‘»πŸŽƒ

We had 18 players throwing silverballs around, six rounds of qualifying, raffle prizes, and then the top eight battled it out in the finals.

And apparently, I decided I wasn’t going to make qualifying easy on myself. πŸ˜‚

πŸŽƒ Qualifying

I had a really solid qualifying run:

πŸ₯‡ Lost World β€” 1st place

πŸ₯ˆ Harley-Davidson β€” 2nd place

πŸ₯ˆ Duotron β€” 2nd place

πŸ₯‰ Attila the Hun β€” 3rd place

πŸ₯‡ Duotron β€” 1st place

πŸ₯ˆ Venom (LE) β€” 2nd place

All in all, Two wins, three 2nd-place finishes, and one 3rd!

That put me at 29 points and 4th place overall heading into the finals. πŸ’œ

And yes, there were some seriously fun games along the way.

πŸ•·οΈ Venom

Venom was a particularly fun one. I had a rough start but managed to claw my way back and finish 2nd in the group.

⚑ Duotron

The second Duotron game was one of those games where I just kept plugging away. Five balls, lots of little battles, and somehow I ended up 1st! πŸ₯‡

🏍️ Harley-Davidson

I finished 2nd on Harley-Davidson during qualifying, then saw it again in the semifinals.

And that semifinal Harley game? I WON IT! πŸ₯‡

That was a pretty damn satisfying moment.

🎟️ Raffle Time!

Before we moved on to the next part of the tournament, we took a break for the raffle prizes.

Because competitive pinball is even better when you can potentially walk away with random cool stuff. πŸ˜‚πŸŽ

πŸ† Semifinals

The top eight advanced, and I found myself in Semifinal Group 1 with:

  • Alyssa De La O
  • Dena Brooks
  • Brittany Daniel AZ
  • Me

We played Harley-Davidson and Elvira’s House of Horrors.

On Harley, I pulled off 3rd place, earning 1 point.

Then came Elvira’s.

I finished 3rd place, earning another point.

That gave me 2 semifinal points, which was enough to advance me to the finals!

🏁 FINALS

And then came the final eight.

I drew Venom (LE) and Chance for my two finals games.

That was a seriously tough field, and the finals did not go my way enough to move me higher.

When everything was finally over…

πŸ’œ I FINISHED 6TH OVERALL! πŸ’œ

6th out of 18 players.

I’ll take it!

Especially considering that I had to fight my way through qualifying, make the semifinals, win a semifinal game, and then take on the final eight.

That’s a pretty damn good Saturday of pinball. πŸŽƒπŸŽ±

❀️ THANK YOU!

A HUGE thank you to Rob and Crystal De La O for hosting the Desert Dolls Halloween Tournament!

You two put together such a fun event, and I really appreciate all the work that goes into making these tournaments happen.

Thank you to everyone who helped run things, scored, bar tended, provided raffle prizes, cheered everyone on, and generally made the day awesome.

And, of course, thank you to all the Desert Dolls for continuing to make women’s competitive pinball such an amazing community. ❀️

There were wins.

There were drains.

There were multiballs.

There were moments of “OH COME ON, PINBALL!” πŸ˜‚

There was Halloween chaos.

And there was a whole lot of fun.

18 players.
29 qualifying points.
4th after qualifying.
Two qualifying wins.
Three qualifying 2nds.
One qualifying 3rd.
Two semifinal 3rds.
6th place overall.

Not too shabby for this competitive pinballing nutball. πŸ˜ŽπŸŽƒπŸ’œ

Wellness without perfection.
Movement in real life still counts.
And apparently, pinball counts as cardio if you play hard enough.
