Some days Fitbit tells a story that makes perfect sense.
And some days Fitbit apparently decides I climbed Mount Everest while walking to Starbucks.
Today was definitely the second kind. 😂
🚶♀️ Walk 2 of 5

The walk itself was perfectly ordinary. Flat streets. Flat sidewalks. Flat parking lots. A lot of puddles to dodge after the weather decided to get squirrely. Lots of clouds with questionable intentions.
Elevation gain according to reality: basically zero.
Elevation gain according to Fitbit?
Apparently I was climbing a mountain.
Every time I walk to Starbucks and back, Fitbit seems convinced I’m going uphill in both directions. I’m assuming the wind, GPS, or some other Fitbit nonsense is responsible, because I promise you there are no Himalayan foothills hiding between my house and Starbucks. 😂
But regardless of what Fitbit thinks I climbed, the important part is that Walk 2 of 5 is DONE.

And then I headed off to Jazzercise.
💃 Jazzercise #54 – Need more color!

Today was Jazzercise #54 with Robyn!
And it was actually a really interesting class for me because I noticed something that I think shows how much I’ve changed since I started.
Robyn tends to teach at a slightly slower pace with a little less overall energy. It’s very much about form, muscle engagement, controlled movement, and low-impact options.
And she doesn’t jump.
Like… ever. 😂
But honestly? That’s part of what made her so great when I first started Jazzercise. Her classes were less intimidating while I was still figuring out what the heck I was doing with my arms, legs, feet, weights, and whatever combination of those things the instructor was throwing at me.
Today, though, I realized that I’m probably becoming more of a Darlene kind of girl.
I LIKE THE CHAOS. 😂
Give me the higher-energy cardio. Give me the bigger movements. Give me the excitement. Give me the feeling that we’re all about to launch ourselves through the ceiling.
Apparently that’s my preferred flavor of exercise now.
Who knew?
But here’s the thing I really noticed today…
My stamina is getting better.
I made it through the entire cardio portion of class before I needed a drink break.
That might not sound like a huge deal, but it is for me.
There have been plenty of classes where I’ve needed two pauses during the cardio portion just to make it through.
Today?
I made it through the whole cardio portion.
Then I grabbed my weights, took a drink, and kept going.
That’s progress.
And Robyn kept announcing that she had a “new routine”…
…only to discover that apparently they were new routines for HER. 😂
Because I had already done a lot of them with Darlene.
The difference was that Robyn was doing them in the low-impact version instead of the HIIT/high-energy Cardio Sculpt version.
And honestly, that was kind of awesome!
Instead of being completely confused by a new routine, I already knew most of the steps. So I could actually focus on learning how to do the movements in a low-impact way.
It was much less choppy and confusing than learning an entirely new routine from scratch.
I still like low-impact, because my ankles have their issues, so jumping can be hard for me. Robyn is amazing and so are my classmates!
📊 The Fitbit Report
Today’s Jazzercise Receipts

1 hour, 1 minute, 8 seconds
🔥 340 calories
❤️ 102 bpm average heart rate
🟢 28 minutes moderate
🔵 33 minutes light
💪 29 active zone minutes
No vigorous or peak-zone minutes today, which makes sense because this was a lower-impact, more controlled class.
And I wasn’t nearly as hot as I usually get.
Part of that may have been the room.
It was COLD.
And if you’ve ever watched me do Jazzercise, you know that “not being drenched in sweat afterward” is not exactly my usual experience. 😂
So between the chilly room and Robyn’s lower-impact style, today’s class definitely felt different from a Darlene high-energy cardio session.
But different doesn’t mean bad.
It was still an hour of moving, working muscles, practicing form, and getting stronger.
And I’m increasingly realizing that having different instructors and different styles is actually useful.
😂 And Then There Was The Outfit
Apparently I committed another Jazzercise offense today.
I showed up in a gray shirt and black exercise shorts.
That’s it.
No bright colors.
No fun workout rainbow.
Just gray and black.
The girls were apparently disturbed.
😂😂😂
Apparently I’ve established such a strong reputation for wearing colorful workout clothes that showing up dressed like a normal human being caused concern.
They basically looked at me like:
“Who are you and what have you done with Christy?”
I guess I need to return to my regularly scheduled colorful wardrobe immediately.
Because apparently gray and black Christy is suspicious.
💜 Today’s Takeaway
Walk 2 of 5 is done.
Jazzercise #54 is done.
☆ I got through the entire cardio block without stopping.
☆ I learned some low-impact versions of routines I already knew.
☆ I got another hour of movement in.
☆ And I’m starting to recognize that my endurance really is improving.
I may have started Jazzercise needing the less-intimidating, lower-impact approach…
…but now I’m apparently over here saying:
“Bring the energy? CAN WE TURN THIS UP A LITTLE?” 😂
That’s a pretty funny place to find myself.
And honestly?
I’ll take it.
Movement in real life still counts.
Even when Fitbit thinks your perfectly flat neighborhood is the Himalayas.
Even when your instructor’s “new” routine isn’t actually new.
Even when the room is freezing.
Even when your friends stage an intervention because you’re wearing gray.
You showed up.
You moved.
You kept going.
Still counts. Always! 💜
