🕹️ Chui’s World Famous All-Classics Bounty Knockout — September Tournament Recap

76 players. 11 rounds. 21 classic machines. Four strikes and you’re out.

And somehow, after spending the afternoon battling it out on some wonderfully cranky old pinball machines, I made it all the way to Round 11 and finished 12th overall. 😳

And yes… I brought home two bounty chips. 💰💰

🎯 Round 1 — Playboy

Started the tournament on Playboy in a four-player game.

Final:
1st — 130.8K
2nd — Me, 100.2K
3rd — 73.7K
4th — 48.2K

No strike. And, more importantly, I personally handed John Shopple his first strike. 😂

A nice little reminder that I came to play.

☀️ Round 2 — Solar Ride

Five-ball game and another 2nd-place finish.

I was actually leading going into the final ball with 152.7K, but P2 pulled out 160.7K on the last ball.

I was only 8K short.

Still no strike.

💃 Round 3 — Dolly Parton

Another 2nd place.

Final score: 138.8K

The player who won walked off with just over 206K, while I managed to stay comfortably above the third-place score.

Three rounds in.

Zero strikes.

I was starting to think, Okay… maybe I can actually hang around for a while.

🚛 Round 4 — Nitro Ground Shaker

And then Nitro reminded me that pinball tournaments teach humility. 😂

I finished 3rd with 37.3K and took my first strike.

The frustrating part was that I knew what I wanted to do on the machine. I just couldn’t make the shots happen consistently. I worked the top lanes, drop targets, saucers and spinners, but the machine simply wasn’t giving me the feel I needed.

Also, a six-year-old named Millie/Millyanna finished ahead of me.

She is adorable.
She is also a beastie.
Humility restored. 😂

🌪️ Round 5 — Whirlwind

Then came the weirdest Whirlwind experience ever.

The machines were using those little white Twilight Zone balls instead of normal steel pinballs.

And apparently…

I liked them. 😂

While Jim Smith AZ — who actually owns a Whirlwind — was basically questioning every life choice that had brought him to that machine, I was happily sending the floaty little bastards up the ramps.

I had a 1.5M ball, then 1.58M, and then walked off on Ball 3.

Survived.

One strike.

🌭 Round 6 — HOTDOGGIN’

THIS GAME.

I got paired with K-Car (Kevan Carter), Xris Rincon and Joel Daniel.

And I absolutely lit up Hot Doggin’.

Ball 2: 194.1K
Ball 3: 828.4K

Final:

🥈 K-Car — 408K
🥉 Xris — 200.8K
4th — 73.6K

828.4K.

The machine I love. The machine I have actually double-rolled before. The machine I would absolutely put in my house if I could find one.

🚀 Round 7 — Andromeda

Then I went into Andromeda with Ty Bull, Alex Carlin and Brandon Passey.

Ty is my tattoo artist.

Xris is my nail lady.

Both are people I have featured in my pinball businesses section of my website.

Apparently my tournament strategy was:
Eliminate the people who do my beauty maintenance. 😂

I finished the game ahead, and Alex hit four strikes, so I picked up my second bounty chip.

Two chips. $10.

And suddenly I had actual bounty money riding around in my pocket.

🎱 Rounds 8–10

This is where the tournament really started getting serious.

The field was shrinking.

The games were getting harder.

And the number beside my name kept getting smaller.

Round 8 Playboy again!

It was not so kind this time.

Strike 2

Round 9 Night Rider, a five-ball game:

I took another strike there.

3 strikes

Then came Charlie’s Angels in Round 10.

And I bounced right back.

Final:

No strike.
At that point, I was still alive.

And then…

Sorcerer. On live feed.

Ball 1: 79.3K
Ball 2: 130K
Ball 3: 293.4K

Final scores:

🥈 328.2K
🥉 293.4K — ME
4th — 66K

That gave me my fourth strike.

Andy Olson got my starter chip.
Game over.

But when I looked at the standings…

12th place.
Out of 76 players.
After 11 rounds.
And I walked out with two bounty chips worth $5 each.

💜 The big picture

This wasn’t one of those tournaments where everything magically went right.

I had games where I was on fire.

I had games where I couldn’t make the shots I wanted.

I had a six-year-old kick my ass. 😂

I played with weird little floaty balls on Whirlwind and somehow loved them.

I beat people I absolutely did not expect to beat.

I took out my nail lady.

I gave my tattoo artist a strike. Sorry. 😂

I won Hot Doggin’ by more than 420,000 points.

And I kept surviving.

11 rounds.

12th overall.

Two bounty chips.

And a whole lot of classic pinball.

Not a bad Sunday at Electric Bat. 🕹️💜

Wellness without perfection. Pinball without guarantees. And apparently… bounty hunting now counts as cardio. 😂
