Well, apparently I decided to run an experiment. 😂

Today was a little different. Instead of heading into Jazzercise fresh, I started the morning with my usual Starbucks walk: 2.54 miles and just over an hour of walking before class.

And then I went to Jazzercise.

The question was simple:
Could I do both and still have a good workout?
Answer: HECK YES.

I actually felt refreshed going into class. My legs were already moving, my arms had gotten a little stretching and swinging in, and I didn’t have that usual “okay, let’s get this body warmed up” feeling at the beginning.

I made it through the entire Jazzercise class—cardio, strength, and stretching—with no problems. I even used the 3-pound weights for the strength portion. I considered the 5s and 10s, then decided I had already conducted enough science for one morning. 😂

The numbers were pretty impressive:
💃 Jazzercise: 1:01:18
🔥 498 calories reported
❤️ 133 bpm average heart rate
💪 48 minutes vigorous + 2 minutes peak
👟 109 active zone minutes

And combined with my morning walk, I was over 10,000 steps before 11 AM.

But honestly, the numbers aren’t even my favorite part.

I had fun.

My arms and legs are pleasantly sore, but I’m not hurting. I’m not walking funny. I’m not exhausted. I still have energy.

So maybe this wasn’t just a double workout.

Maybe it was a little glimpse of what a year of consistent movement has actually built.

Double Dip Experiment: SUCCESS. ☕🚶‍♀️

Now I’m going to take a nap because I’m enthusiastic, not stupid. 😂

Then I am off to Tilt Studios Thursday League Night stairs and 5 rounds of pinball.

Wellness without perfection.

Movement in real life still counts. 💜
