EPIC Women’s Monday Night Pinball League Season 4: Week 3 Recap

Week 3 of the EPIC Women’s Monday Night Pinball League brought another fun night of competition to The Outpost Arcade in Chandler, Arizona. Twenty-seven players battled through five rounds of group match play, and as always, the competition was fierce from top to bottom.

Monsoon clouds rolled into the Valley just before league started, making for a dramatic backdrop as everyone gathered for another Monday night of pinball.

Round 1 – Circus Voltaire 🥇 1st Place

I opened the night on Circus Voltaire against Jess Cota-Forsee, Shandi McCutcheon, and Michelle Pack.

After a close first ball, everything came together on Ball 2. I took down multiple Ringmasters, started Ringmaster Frenzy, locked a ball on the High Wire, and built a comfortable lead. A steady final ball was enough to secure the win.
Result: 🥇 1st Place

Round 2 – Medusa 🥉 3rd Place

Next up was the classic Medusa against Shaniya Lee, Zoey Wittmann, and Krisha Shufran.

This game became a battle of drop targets and upper playfield control. I spent much of the game working the upper playfield, collecting drop targets, increasing my bonus multiplier, and hitting several saucers. A frustrating right outlane drain during Ball 1 and 2 slowed my momentum, and a strong Ball 3 comeback wasn’t quite enough.
Result: 🥉 3rd Place

Round 3 – JAWS 🦈 4th Place

Round 3 was definitely my toughest draw of the night.

My group included Olivia Helm, Kaydee Helm, and Elena Valenzuela—three outstanding players on one of Stern’s deeper modern games.

I managed to start Tiger Shark Mode, collected a fin, worked the center ramp and chum shots, but the scores escalated quickly around me. Sometimes you simply run into a stacked group, and this was one of those matches.
Result: 4th Place

Round 4 – Transporter the Rescue 🥈 2nd Place

Transporter turned into one of my favorite games of the evening.

I focused on completing inlanes, repeatedly clearing drop targets, working the spinners, and steadily building my score. Meghan Bougher put together a fantastic game, but I was able to hold off Patrick Swazey and Teresa Barnes to earn another podium finish.
Result: 🥈 2nd Place

Round 5 – Rick and Morty 🥈 2nd Place

The final round paired me with Teri Jo Kinnison, Christine Smith, and Hailey Buhrman.

The game started well with a garage skill shot and Kill Everyone Mode. Throughout the match I collected multiple ball locks, mystery awards, garage shots, upper loops, ramps, and another garage skill shot on Ball 3.

Hailey had an incredible game, finishing with over 18 million, while I finished with just over 2 million to secure second place.
Result: 🥈 2nd Place

One of the Best Parts of the Night

After league wrapped up, Hailey stayed behind and showed me several Rick and Morty strategies.

I immediately played a practice game, and I put those ideas to work, scoring 7.45 million—more than triple my tournament score from just a few minutes earlier.

That is one of my favorite things about this community. Everyone wants to compete, but they also genuinely want to help each other improve.

The Outpost Arcade also gave a well-deserved shout-out to Andy Olson of Wyrd Candy for bringing prizes and supporting the league. Those little touches help make Monday nights feel like more than just a tournament—they feel like a community.

After three weeks, I’m sitting in 7th place overall with 269 season points.

I’m only 2 points behind 6th and 4 points behind 5th, so every match is starting to matter even more. With three qualifying weeks still to go before finals, I’m in a great position to keep climbing the standings.

Overall, Week 3 was another successful night. I picked up a win, earned two second-place finishes, battled through a stacked JAWS group, learned a new game from one of the league’s top players, and drove home through a windy Arizona monsoon. Plus, I got some incidental exercise while doing what I love.
