Season 21 of Electric Bat Arcade Tuesday Night League kicked off Tuesday night, and as always, Electric Bat was buzzing.
For newer players, the size of the league can be a little overwhelming.
One of the former Player One regulars looked around at the crowd and asked if it was always this busy.
Rachel’s response?
“Actually, it’s a little small right now. It’s only about 100 people.”
The look on her face was priceless.
For perspective, Player One’s biggest nights were around 50 players. Electric Bat is a completely different animal these days, filling multiple rooms with league players, practice games, conversations, and plenty of pinball chaos.
My Night
League nights are funny. Sometimes your best result isn’t your best game.

Not exactly a dominant scorecard, but I was happy with several of the games.
Best Played Game: Johnny Mnemonic
Even though it only resulted in a third-place finish, Johnny Mnemonic was probably my best overall game of the night. The shots felt good, I was making progress, and I felt in control of what I was trying to accomplish. Sometimes that’s worth more than the final standings.
Favorite Moment:
Black Knight: Sword of Rage
Black Knight has been one of my favorite machines at Electric Bat for years. I’ve been playing that particular game since Electric Bat was just one tiny room, so I know it well.

That solid third-ball comeback was enough to jump from behind to first place and earn my only win of the night.
Sometimes pinball is funny like that. Two mediocre balls followed by one ball where everything comes together.
The Andrew Report
Andrew had a solid night as well, including a second-place finish on Stars.
We also finally received some good news on the home front. The replacement part for our Godzilla machine has finally been ordered and is on the way after months of waiting.
Hopefully Godzilla will be back in action soon.
Given that Andrew finished third on one of his games, I suspect Godzilla may be facing some very serious discussions once repairs are complete.
Still Counts
After league ended, neither of us headed straight home. We stayed and practiced for a while, squeezing in a little more pinball before calling it a night.
Incidental Exercise Receipts
According to Fitbit, I spent nearly four hours at the arcade, burned 419 calories, walked 1,542 steps, and somehow only accumulated two active zone minutes.
As usual, Fitbit remains unconvinced that competitive pinball is exercise.
My feet disagree.
