Todayās Starbucks Carrot Method adventure turned into a full Arizona wildlife documentary. š
The cactus blooms are going absolutely wild right now.
From February until now, it has been amazing watching every stage happen in real time:
tiny buds,
giant flowers,
new paddles,
surprise blooms overnight,
and changes so fast you miss something if you skip even one day.
The desert really does reward consistency. The more I walk, the more I notice.

Todayās sightings included:
⢠my resident crow bodyguard doing a flyby before heading home to his date palm,
⢠a hummingbird that practically required Olympic-level camera focus skills at 30x zoom,
⢠woodpeckers working the palms,
⢠hidden nests tucked into the branches,
⢠giant eucalyptus trees throwing patches of shade like lifesavers,
⢠and enough birds chirping to soundtrack the entire walk.
The return trip definitely shifted into āArizona speed mode.”
The breeze died down, the sun switched into laser beam setting, and I stopped lingering under the trees quite so long. š
Still got in:
2.5 miles
5,815 steps
72 active zone minutes
and a whole lot of mental reset before tournament pinball later today.
Walk Receipts

Honestly, this whole routine started for one very simple reason:
I wanted caffeine badly enough to walk for it instead of dealing with pre-coffee drive-thru traffic. š
Nine months later, here we are.
Still counts. Always. š
