Some nights are confidence nights.

Some nights are learning nights.

Some nights are humble pie nights.

Tonight was a little of everything — which honestly makes it a pretty complete pinball night.

Started the evening with a reminder that pinball does not always cooperate.

On Star Wars I was able to get a mode started and reached a multiball on the left side (Luke path), but the machine played tighter than the one I am used to at Electric Bat Arcade. Same progress, different scoring environment.

Then Xenon decided it was in charge and gave me three house balls. Sometimes the ball never even makes it to a flipper, and that is just part of the statistical noise of pinball. Still counts as experience on a classic machine.

Took a mental reset, had some chicken artichoke pesto pizza rolls (super yum) and a small tiramisu (eh, not my mom’s), and settled back in.

On Uncanny X-Men I set a simple plan:
Rescue the Children (friendly mode) and look for a multiball opportunity.

Managed to start the Rescue the Children mode and stack it with the Sentinel robot multiball in the center. Finished with 52 million and a 1st place. Did what I set out to do.

Buck Rogers was next, which is a machine I have liked since I was a kid watching the show (Twiggy and Dr. Theopolis forever). Focused on drop targets and repeatable shots. Collected a skill shot and completed the drop targets multiple times for another 1st place.

Ultraman closed out the night. Hit a good skill shot and started multiball from the red lock on the right side, which produced solid points and a 2nd place finish.

Final result for the night: 21 points

Tied for 11th out of 25 players

Overall assessment: If measured by plans vs execution, this was a solid night.
Not every bounce goes our way, but making a plan and carrying it out across multiple machines is how progress builds over time.

Also notable: Fitbit logged the 3 hour pinball session as “golf,” which honestly tracks. Standing, walking machine to machine, staying mentally engaged, and managing fine motor control kept my heart rate elevated in the light activity zone for most of the evening.

Pinball is a great example of incidental exercise — movement that happens while doing something enjoyable. It may not look like a traditional workout, but the time on your feet, focus, and repetition add up.

Incidental Exercise Receipts (Pinball = Golf 😄)

Walk earlier in the day + league night movement = layered activity that supports consistency without feeling like a grind.

Pinball still counts.

Also important life update: Grandbaby learned peek-a-boo, has two bottom teeth coming in, clapped her feet for me (our thing since I taught her at 2 months old), clapped her hands, smiled big, and got to watch her take a few walking steps today.

That part definitely counts the most.

Still counts ✔️
