Late start — and for a good reason.
After two straight days of pinball tournaments and go-go-go energy, last night was about slowing down.
I came home from eating a healthy dinner, spent time with my husband, and played a little co-op pinball on King Kong: Mystery Island.
The new adventure part was playing King Kong in co-op mode together — article coming soon.
Then I intentionally powered down.
Had a small mental-health moment — the normal kind where you think through life, sort a few feelings, let your brain finish its sentences — and decided rest was the priority.
Alarms off.
Phone plugged in.
Fitbit off and charging.
No sleep tracking. Just sleep.
Monkey (one of the five cats, not an actual primate) supervised sleep under the blankets. She does not accept feedback on this arrangement.
I slept in. Woke up late. And that was exactly what I needed.
This morning’s walk started later than usual — still counts.
Bright, sunny, very warm sun with a nice cool breeze. Full dose of sunshine-class vitamin D. Sweating achieved. ✔️

Spotted a big plume of smoke in the distance (Phoenix doing Phoenix things). By the time I headed home, it was gone — hopefully everyone’s safe.

Starbucks Carrot Method™ successful.
Coffee acquired. Extra ice, because Arizona. Yum.
Brief moment of concern at the shopping center due to a strong funk in the air.
Follow-up report: safely home, sweaty but not stinky.
Verdict: definitely the shopping center.

Soundtrack on the way home was pure joy: 🎶 Rhinestone Cowboy
🎶 Jackson 5
🎶 Dolly Parton (butterflies were involved)
🎶 “Hey! Huh! Good God!”
🎶 It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere
🎶 Sunshine, Lollipops, Rainbows, and Butterflies
Equals serotonin on shuffle.
Walk Receipts:

Mental health matters just as much as physical health.
Rest counts.
Listening to your body counts.
Late start. Still going.
Still counts. 💛🐾
