Series: Starbucks Carrot Method – North Phoenix Walking Series
Today’s walk was one of those soul-filling ones. I left the house around 10:30 a.m. and headed a mile and a quarter to the Starbucks near my neighborhood, took a short rest on a park bench in the shopping center, then walked the mile and a quarter back home. The weather couldn’t have been better — sunny, breezy, and absolutely gorgeous.
Along the way, I passed homes bursting with bright California poppies, saw cars cruise by with the cutest dogs riding shotgun, and even caught a glimpse of a sweet older couple out for a classic Sunday drive in a blue Chrysler. Another highlight was watching an older woman driving with her sunroof open, soaking up the day like she was 18 again — pure joy in motion.
With coffee in hand, music in my ears, and everything from the Bee Gees and Red Hot Chili Peppers to The Buggles’ Video Killed the Radio Star (plus a little country) setting the soundtrack, the walk felt fun, light, and grounding. It was a reminder that movement doesn’t have to be complicated — sometimes it’s just about sunshine, good tunes, and enjoying the moment.

Now, it is on to my incidental exercise. Time to finish my laundry, fold and put away my clothes. Fun! Enjoy your Friday and get out there and move. Check out the gorgeous world around you and breath some fresh air.
Still counts.
