and doing some chores.
Arizona has officially entered “the outside air is trying to fight me” season, so the Starbucks Carrot Method has temporarily turned into: survive the heat without becoming human beef jerky. 😅
I’ll be honest — it’s messing with me a little psychologically not doing my regular walks.
I’m used to seeing big step counts by now, and today I looked down at my Fitbit and went:
“…that can’t be right.”

But then I stopped and thought about it.
Today still included:
✔ laundry mountain progress
✔ garbage out
✔ bed made
✔ cat water fountains refilled
✔ chasing cats around the house
✔ house reset chaos
✔ keeping myself OUT of heat exhaustion mode
✔ planning a pool + veggie BBQ social adventure later
✔ probably some pinball before I leave because silverballs still count 😄
And honestly? That still counts too.
Sometimes wellness looks like a long coffee walk.
Sometimes it looks like survival mode with extra hydration and indoor movement while Arizona cooks us all alive.
The important part is not disappearing from your own life just because the routine changed for a while.
So this is your reminder from the captain of Team Incidental Exercise:
Movement still counts.
Care tasks still count.
Rest still counts.
Adapting still counts.
