Corbin made it safely to the airport before 5 this morning and is now back on a plane headed to Boston and his husband. ❤️
And once I knew he was safely on his way, I had an unexpected thought:
I GET TO WALK.
This was my first Starbucks Carrot walk since July, and I was a little nervous. I wasn’t sure if three days a week of Jazzercise had been enough to maintain my walking stamina through the Arizona heat.
Turns out… I was fine. 😂
I walked 2.55 miles round trip, with a 17-minute Starbucks break for hot egg bites, coffee, pictures, and general carrot appreciation. I kept a pretty good pace, sang along with Spotify, danced my way down the sidewalk, and enjoyed every bit of the breeze.

And the wildlife apparently came out to celebrate my return:
🪿 Two separate flybys by about a dozen Canadian geese
🐦⬛ My regular crow/raven making a Starbucks appearance
🦜 The neighborhood lovebirds
🐉 Dragonflies
🐦 A hummingbird
🍟 A bird who figured out how to dip a stolen fry into sauce
🤠 Wild West Mustache Bob, doing well on his morning rounds

It was 87°, humid, and I was sweating like crazy—but I felt SO GOOD.
And that’s the part I didn’t expect when I started the Starbucks Carrot Method last September.
I thought the coffee was going to be the motivation.
Somehow, somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the walk itself.
I missed this.
So apparently the carrot survived summer. 🥕💜
Happy Sips Wednesday!
Still counts. Always!
