Lucky #13 is officially in the books!
Today was a mix of familiar routines and some new choreography, so there were a few songs where I was a little discombobulated.
That’s okay—it’s all part of learning.
The songs I’ve been practicing? I was right on the money.
The instructor retired one of my favorite “love to hate it” songs, Firework. Before you think I was celebrating, she replaced it with another equally evil arm workout. 😂 One song burns the shoulders with lots of movement, while the new one keeps your arms held up forever until they start negotiating a peace treaty with gravity.
Apparently my upper body is getting the memo that it’s time to catch up with my legs this summer!
Even better, I made it through more of the arm work than I did last week. My arms didn’t flop over and say, “To hell with you!” nearly as many times. That’s progress, even if they still burned like a banshee.
Today’s class also featured a ton of crunches.
I barely noticed during class because the arm work distracted me, but as soon as I got in the car my abs started playing the old Simon game—one muscle firing after another.
Holding the steering wheel at 10 and 2 became its own endurance exercise. 🤣
Today’s stats:
💃 60-minute Cardio Sculpt Low Impact
🔥 552 calories burned
❤️ Average heart rate: 141 bpm
💪 103 Active Zone Minutes
📈 Cardio Load: 76

The best part isn’t the numbers, though.
I realized something on the drive home… the biggest victory today wasn’t surviving the evil arm songs.
A couple of years ago I was wearing boots because I didn’t trust my ankles after repeated sprains. Today I danced for an hour in tennis shoes, pivoted, turned, laughed, and had absolutely no ankle issues. That’s a victory no fitness tracker can measure.
Some workouts are fun. Some workouts are humbling. Today’s workout was both.
Here’s to Lucky Jazzercise #13… and to continuing to make the hard things feel a little easier every week.
Still counts. Always. ♥️
