This morning’s “workout” looked like this:
☕ Walk to Starbucks
🪑 Bench meeting with myself
🥤 Circle K supply run
🚶 Walk home
No gym.
No training plan.
Just errands on foot in North Phoenix.
Fitbit says: • 8,176 steps
• 3.65 miles
• 59 active zone minutes
• Cardio load: 44 (above target)
• Exercise day 1 of 5
Two walks happened naturally:
Walk #1 – Starbucks run
1.25 miles • 29 minutes
Nice easy pace while the body wakes up.
Walk #2 – Errands loop
2.17 miles • 45 minutes
Average HR: 123
Mostly moderate zone with a little vigorous mixed in.

By the time I got home my heart rate had already dropped back to 83, which is exactly what you want to see after a good walk.
Reality:
I got coffee.
I sat on my bench.
I ran an errand.
I walked home.
Somewhere in there Fitbit decided I had done a workout.
Turns out everyday movement adds up faster than you think.

Down 25 pounds in 6 months doing things pretty much like this.
I still drink coffee with sweet cream.
I still eat bacon egg bites.
I still eat ice cream at night.
Turns out you don’t have to overhaul your life.

Most of my weight loss has come from simple daily walking like this, not extreme workouts.
